Lately I've been thinking how grateful I am to be a bbc(British Born Chinese) and to be in China long enough to finally understand my roots and what it means to be Chinese. Like many of us out there, we are faced with the question "Who am I? Chinese or British"? even though we are Chinese but at the same time we find it hard to balance those two identities. Well I finally have the answer! am hoping all fellow bbc's will through there journey will find out where there roots are. There's a saying “To forget one's ancestor's is to be a brook without a source, a tree without root” It would be a real shame if you don't keep this loving attitude. No matter where we are? how little Chinese we speak, how much you don't like about China or being Chinese? There are things that will never change....We are Chinese and be proud of it!

China Earthquake Appeal
More than 60,000 people have been killed and five million made homeless by the devastating earthquake that struck south west China on 12 May. Many more have lost their homes and the death toll continues to rise.
The epicentre of the 7.9 magnitude quake was Wenchuan County in Sichuan Province, with another seven provinces affected. Tremors were felt as far away as the capital Beijing.
A number of heavily populated areas have been badly hit. In the town of Beichuan, 80 per cent of buildings are reported to have collapsed, including several schools, burying children and teachers under piles of rubble. The nearby town of Mianzhu, which has a population of 60,000, was also seriously affected.
